How to create source system For BI?

Dear Experts,

We had restored the backup of one of our BI-Production system to the test system , with different SID.

It was successful.

Now for this test system the source system is still the source system for the Bi-prod system , but its not working properly.

Now we have one test system of R3 , we want the connectivity of the Test R3 system to the Test Bi- system.

Please guide us the procedure of it, so that we can initiate the process.

take help of BASIS, this is BASIS activity.

Hi RJ,

You do not need to change the logical system name in each of the flow/tables. Please follow the below steps:

1. Delete Old existing RFC connection in SM59.
2. Create New RFC connection.
3. Create and map the existing logical system with the new logical source system using BDLS.
4. Test the run and execute complete run.
5. After that check the source system in BI and replicate all the data sources.

Hi,

Take basis team help. they can handle it. its basis activity.

By using Tx - BDLS we can do logical mappings of source and target systems.

if you search on Google you will get best pdf  also.

Use search term " Step by step on changing ecc bw".

We have to change the logical system names once system copy has happend.

So please perform the BDLS / BDLSS conversion in all clients to change the logical system names in all the tables.
