Newbie material for SAP MII

Hi experts,

I am 9 year experienced in sap world, with high level of abap, BW and BO and quite a good knowledge of FI, CO, SD and WM modules.

I am now beginning with SAP MII and I am a little lost. I have a MI 14 machine but not yet connected with any device or R3 system yet.

Is there any begginer material or a very simple step by step guide with the workbench to start feeling and make some very very simple examples starting with hello world and easy examples to start a test from something? I am trying to make a very simple demostration for my colegues but I don't know where to start.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Praveen and thanks for your response.

I had been looking this examples a few days ago but I have 2 ploblems with it: one is that the  example is targeted for experienced MII developers, and assumes you are familiar with MII concepts; and that it needs to configure a MDO connection wich guide document linkgiven in the document does not exist

The first link is good to have an idea about the capabilities of the MII but it has no sample practice exercises

I am considering on buying the book Implementing and Configuring SAP MII you suggested but i am afraid it would be much more about theory than real step by step practice exercises.

For MDO, go through below link

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60c02dd3-255b-3010-d09e-eeb3ee384...

And for practice exercises, you have to deploy project into your SAP MII and then go through invidiual process guidelines and create new applications according to your requirement.

Follow Steps:

Step 1: Download project from above link

Step 2:  Deploy whole project as per guidelines and execute each of them

Step 3: And create your own developments to get practice

I Hope MII Wiki provides lot of information for the starters.

And also if you are already experienced in SAP ABAP and other modules its like more added advantage.

To tell in layman words, MII is a platform which connects to ERP or Plant shopfloor with available connectors and also if needed you can easily integrate any custom development. Its all about java.

There are Java connectors called JCo and JRA for connecting to ERP and Pco for connecting shopfloor.

SCM380 material would help you.
