DTP Load Error - Fiscal year variant no expected

Hi Gurus, We have a new system bw7.3, which is a copy of an existing system. We are loading from DSO to cube.In Cube there is fiscal yr variant field, but In DSO there is no fiscal year variant field, hence in transformation its not mapped. But when we load the data from DTP, load is failing...below is the error msg screen.

    Hi,

Go to RSA1--Source system--Select the system from which data is coming into BW--right click on it--Transfer global settings--Select Fiscal year variants check box--Mode--Rebuild tables and execute again with the option update tables.

Once through with this then load the data again and check if this works or not.

    Regards,

    AL

    Hi Vandana,

Fiscal Year Variant is required for Financial data if is it not there in DSO you need to either bring it from source, or you need to bring it to DSO based on logic.

You can also discuss with Functional team, that if Fiscal Year Varient is constant for your system if this is a case you can bring it in Cube by hard coding the value in transformation.

    Regards,

    Ganesh

Hi Anshu, I have already done the update of T009 tables thru transfer global settings from the source system.

regarding Ganesh's reply, its not compulsory for the 0fiscvarnt to be mapped in the Transformation, eventhough its there in the cubes. I have checked in someother cubes, its not mapped in trans, but still loads are successful.

    thanks in advance,

    Vandana.

    • Hi Vandana,

The 0FISCVARNT may not be mapped in some other cubes, that's because it is declared as a constant in the cube level itself. Open one of those cubes in Display mode, right click on the 0FISCVARNT field and select "Provider Specific Properties". If the "Constant" value is entered in this popup, then you do not need to map 0FISCVARNT in the transformation to the cube. Maybe in the other cubes, this constant is maintained.

Coming back to the problem you face: if you want your DTP to succeed you need to do one of the following

      1. Maintain a constant value for 0FISCVARNT in the Provider Specific Properties as described above. Not recommended if you expect to have different values for this field
      2. Map it in the TRFN from the source DSO
      3. Don't map it in the TRFN, but assign a constant in the TRFN to this field

If you don't do one of these your DTP will continue to fail.

      Regards,

      Suhas

    Hi Vandana,

If want to load data for that field (fiscal year variant) in cube:-

    1) If your fiscal year variant data is not constant (varying) in source system then you have to write some code at transformation level, while you are loading data to cube.

    2) If your fiscal year variant data is constant in source system, then you can do as Ganesh said (you have set that field as constant at transformation level and you can hardcore the value).

If you do not want to load data for that field in cube:-

    3) Then you should select Initial at field level in transformation for that field, now there will be no data loaded for that field into cube.

Your load will be successful. If you do any 1 among the 3, depending on your requirement.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Upender reddy.

    Hi,

If you don't have fiscal year variant data in dso then no need to map with cube even every company or organization have fix fiscal year variant so if you want you can give constant value in transformation.

    SM

    Hi Vandana,

Fiscal Year variant field is must in reporting also. If you are not restrict the fiscal year variant in the reporting the values will go wrong. So, in DSO maintained fiscal year variant field and map that field to Cube. Apply transformations as constant.

    Thanks,

    Purushotham.
