Preview Panel disabled

I have 2 reports in Crystal Reports 2013 SP1 Patch 2.  In the report options for both of them the Show Preview Panel check box is checked.  On one of them I cannot actually bring up the Preview Panel within Crystal Reports; the option is disabled.

Despite this, the Preview Panel is accessible when running the report from within the BI Launchpad.  I would like to be able to use the Preview Panel in Crystal Reports.

Any ideas?

Noel

hello Noel,

the option that you need to configure this is in File > Report Options...

if that is checked on, you should also ensure that one of the parameters has been edited so that they show on the viewer panel.

cheers,

My Show Preview Panel check box is checked...

I have four parameters (3 required and 1 optional) which are all marked as Editable like this...

And Preview Panel is still grayed out...

one suggestion at this point is to try save the report from the report designer, closing the report, and then reopening it.

if that doesn't work, is there any way for you to attached the report file to this post or is there a privacy issue with the data?

The data is too sensitive to share.

Instead I thought I would see if I could recreate the issue in a new sample report.  I could not.  However, when I tried my report with the problem again it worked!  And that was without closing and re-opening the designer.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Noel
