Customer Exit Variable Interval for 0CalMonth

Hi All,

My requirement is such that based on Calmonth : eg 09/2013 i need to display MEASURES for 15 months which would be 07/2012 - 09/2013.

So what i did was i used variable ZT_MONTH to input 09/2013 and also created a new customer exit variable ZI_15RCMY to get the interval.

Created ZT_MONTH variable, the properties are..

Variable Name = ZT_MONTH

Description = Cal Month/year

Processing by = Mandatory/Default entry

Characteristic = 0CALMONTH

Variable Entry = Mandatory

Ready for input checked

Created ZI_15RCMY variable, the properties are..

Variable Name = ZI_15RCMY

Description = 15 Rolling Months

Processing by = Customer Exit

Characteristic = 0CALMONTH

Variable Represents = Interval

Variable Entry = Optional

Ready for input NOT checked

Under ROWS

Characteristic : Company Code

Structure : Measures 1 , Measure 2 (Examples)

Cal month ( This selection has variable ZT_MONTH which is hidden)

Under COLUMNS

Characteristic : 0CALMONTH

Under Default Values

Characteristics: 0CALMONHT( here i have put variable ZI_15RCMY)

So when i run the report i get selection screen to input Calmonth year and i input selection 9/2013 and execute the report and i get the reprot as needed.

Company Code, Structure, Calmonths 7/2012 - 9/2013.

Now when i select the button Variable Screen and change the selection from 9/2013 to 6/2013 and execute the result of the report remains same , it does not change the values as the variable ZI_15RCMY is not executed. This is where I need your suggestions.

Please let me know if there is some thing i am doing wrong.

Thanks,

Kiran

    Two things i would suggest:

    1. Make the entry of customer exit variable to mandatory from optional.
    2. Move the CE variable to characteristic restriction pane from default value pane.

    Give a try to it and let us know if this works or not.

      AL,

      I tried both options and still change.

      First time when i execute the query with the cal month i am able to see all 15 months , but when i click on Variable screen Button and give different selection the results are not changing.

      Any more thoughts?

      Appreciate your help.

    Why are you trying to achieve this through User exit? You can easily get it by applying offsets with a range.

    You need to restrict your KF with below range variable.

    ZT_month-14-ZTmonth

      Suman,

      I considered that option but to avoid creating 15 selections i thought i could achive by putting in the calmonth in Columns which would dinamically display 15 columns.

      Puzzling thing here is when i first execute the report and give 9/2013 as selection the CE variable for 15 months is executing and after that when i select Variable Screen buttion and try to change the selection to 6/2013 or 7/2013 and execute the results remain same as it is not hitting the CE variable.

      Appreciae your help.

      Thanks,

      Kiran

    Dear Kiran,

    Can you paste here your CE code.

    Try to Debug the code by passing /06.2013/09.2013 or multiple months for testing.

    You can see debugging option at RSRT properties.

    While debugging check what are the values filling in internal table: L_S_RANGE

    Regards, Vijay.
