Hi All
My company's implemented CRM. And I want to pick up a bit of configuration skill.
A friendly consultant has kindly given me plenty of study materials.
How can I get trial software to install or a VM so I can have access to a system to configure?
Hi Peter,
If you want to play with SAP CRM user interface (from an end user perspective) you can register for the "test drive SAP CRM7.02" available on the front page of SAP CRM Wiki section:
Customer Relationship Management - CRM - SCN Wiki
For the record: it took me approx. 6 months to get my access to previous CRM7.01 test drive experience... so be patient 🙂
And unfortunately, I don't think there is a free and legal way to get full access to a system (like a VM that you could install/run on your own laptop). But if your company is implementing SAP CRM and you have a friend amongst SAP basis team, best thing to do would probably be to ask them to build a sandbox system for you (as a copy of the dev for example). This can be done in no time. Otherwise there is still the option that you download everything yourself from sap service marketplace (provided that you have a valid S-User ID with proper authorizations) but you'll still need to register your system to get a licence, and then you'll need Solution Manager to download the support packs, etc. Not an easy task for a newbie 😞
Cheers,
Nicolas.

HI Nicolas,
Greeting for the day...
I have one question to ask. Is this
"test drive SAP CRM7.02" available on the front page of SAP CRM Wiki section:
Customer Relationship Management - CRM - SCN Wiki
Is free of cost or i need to pay ?
what is the hardware required for this? I.e for ides installation we required 160 gd HD. In the same way do we need any HD or this is a Online one.
I am a Functional Consultant. Do I need any authoroizations form the company for this installation?
Regards,
Sap Adherent.
Hi Sap adherent,
Test drive is free of charge (but I think that you do need a valid S-User ID surprisingly) and is online: no installation and no hardware necessary. You'll be provided a link to connect to a CRM system with the following business roles:
Also, PDF documents will be sent to you with detailed scripts on how to use many business functions (like "Account and Contact management" for example). However, take a look at the link on the CRM wiki page because unfortunately you'll see that "test drive CRM" is not available in all countries.
Regards,
Nicolas.
