Not able to expand Remote FPN Producers folder in Portal Content

Hi All,

We are on portal 7.3. We have configured FPN properly, SSO is also working fine, telnet testing is also successful still we are facing one issue.

We are not able to see or expand Remore FPN Producers content in Portal Content.

While testing FPN , Run tests are successfull but one result is:

Local RMI-P4 Connection Properties: Unexpected error occurred, contact SAP Support.

I am not sure but guess this might be the reason. Please guide me here to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance

Nivedita

Hi Nivedita,

kindly check the remote delta link configuration and check the port which is being hit.

Also let us know the SPS level

Hi Ashutosh/Hanif,

Port is open and activated. still problem is same.

Ashutosh are you talking about RMI-P4 Connection Settings? If that so , we have configured that too.

If somewhere else you want me to configure then please elaborate.

SPS level is 8.

Thanks

Hi,

Just wanted to hi-light one more things.

Certain portal permissions and UME actions must be assigned on the producer portal before a user

administrator on the consumer can perform the remote role assignment, while other permission settings must be assigned either before or after the remote role assignment has been performed by the user administrator the consumer portal.

Thanks

Hi Rishi/Hanif,

I am using admin user only to create FPN, and all the admin permissions are also given.

Could you please specify if there is any particular role /permission which i should assign to user.

Hanif , I am not getting any error. i am not able to see contents at all.As shown in this image.

I am not able to expand BI_HR_Portal and not able to see the content .Though everything is working fine in D environment.

Thanks

Nivedita

Do you use SAP Web Dispatcher ?

If so, please be aware that it doesn't work for P4 communication and here configuration must point directly to application server

Hi,'

I am using admin user only to create FPN, and all the admin permissions are also given.

Could you please specify if there is any particular role /permission which i should assign to user.

The doc that i referred you earlier has the details in there.

Do you see any log in the default trace when you expand it.

To collect FPN traces, you can use the Logwatch Tool, Web Diagtool or the Troubleshooting Wizard. For more information about these tools check the following KBAs:

  • 1593107 - Logwatch Tool - Collecting Portal DefaultTrace logs

  • 1916332 - How to use the Web Diagtool for collecting traces using custom locations;
  • 1921472 - How to use the Troubleshooting Wizard for collecting traces using custom locations;

Hi Nivedita,

Just a small check. I believe you have implemented SSO between producer and consumer portal. And secondly the admin user which you are using is present in both the system.

So please check the permission given to the admin user is same in both system. And having Everyone read access to the admin user.

Hi Yadavji,

Can you please open / activate the P4 port number of producer portal. As same is used for FPN connection object.
