Hi Everyone!
Before anything else, i would like to say that I'm a student very eager to learn and understand all that i can from SAP, but still a STUDENT, so please take it easy on me and i apologize in advance if i don't catch up so quickly,
My Questions are:
1. What are the hardware/software requirements or specifications for implementing Enhancement Pack 6 on an existing SAP ERP 6.0? any ideas on the cost?
2. Are the rumors about an SAP ERP 7.0 true? or is it a version 7.0 of SAP EHP?
Thank you in Advance!
Hi,
1. What are the hardware/software requirements or specifications for implementing Enhancement Pack 6 on an existing SAP ERP 6.0? any ideas on the cost?
Please check the below url for the hardware and the db versions.
Please check the below link.

2. Are the rumors about an SAP ERP 7.0 true? or is it a version 7.0 of SAP EHP?
What do you mean by that. EHP7 is release.
1737650 - EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 SP Stacks - Release & Information Note
1865866 - SAP EHP 7 for SAP ERP 6.0 - Release Information
1761546 - SAP ERP powered by SAP HANA - Optimizations
Thanks

Thank you very much!
With my first question, since we are already using SAP ERP 6.0 and just want to implement the EHP 6, do we need to install additional software or upgrade the capacity of the hardware?
(thank you very much for the links! still going through the articles, just wanted to reply immediately )
With my second question, thank you very much for clarifying that, i've read certain articles that are saying that the latest version for sap ERP is 7.0 and not ERP 6.0 while some articles are saying that there is no ERP 7.0, but there is an EHP 7 for ERP 6.0 so i really didn't know what to believe at first,
Another question,
If we were to implement the EHP 6.0, do you have any idea if it would cost us? i mean, do we have to pay for anything? like additional license or anything?
Thank you very Much!
Ayan,
Hi,
With my second question, thank you very much for clarifying that, i've read certain articles that are saying that the latest version for sap ERP is 7.0 and not ERP 6.0 while some articles are saying that there is no ERP 7.0, but there is an EHP 7 for ERP 6.0 so i really didn't know what to believe at first,
I have not heard of ERP 7. Latest in the market is EHP7 for ERP 6.
if we were to implement the EHP 6.0, do you have any idea if it would cost us? i mean, do we have to pay for anything? like additional license or anything?
I thing licensing is charged related to the functionality you are using. But for this you need to contact the sap support or check with your sap contact manager.
Also check this.

Hi,
here is the link to the blog post saying that there is an erp 7.0 --not EHP--
(http://scn.sap.com/thread/404791)
but you have already clarified that and once again thank you
Will now check with the sap contact manager regarding the license
before we can implement EHP 6.0 do we need to implement the previous EHP versions (EHP 5, EHP 4, EHP 3, EHP 2, EHP 1)too?
Thank you!
Ayan,
Hi,
You will have to go in solution manager and then generate the xml file .
During the generation of the stack file you need to select EHP6 and then generate the stack.
Once the stack is generated download the patches and the SUM tool .
Extract the SUM tool and run the upgrade.
Just a demo of sum tool.
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-25113
Just check the guide for the minimum sp required to upgrade to EHP6...
Thanks

Hello
There is no ERP 7.0
There is EHP 7 for ERP 6.0 which is the latest EHP.
For installing an EHP 6 based system you need to have a supported OS and DB.
Check PAM for that.
The SAP licensing policy is not very transparent so the licensing cost should be discussed with SAP.
You have the possibility to buy the database license from SAP as well if you don't have to go through the database vendor.
