Nominations Infotype 0591 in ESS Portal

Hi All,

We want to put a screen in ESS portal, where employee will udpate his nominee details for insurance and the same to be updated back in SAP ECC.

Intially we thought to put custom infotype, but later since we have standard SAP infotype 591 we are thinking to use the same.

Since its for payroll India, can we use this infotype without payroll in SAP, as we dont have payroll in SAP.(in future years we may implement payroll)

I know this wont be an issue just to make sure as best practice i posted this .

So i can use the infotype for general purpose other than payroll?

Hi Piscian,

SAP has given you a provision to implement Personal Information customization requirements like this, but for this you need a good WD-ABAP consultant who is good at Infotypes structures and Classes.

Hi Piscian,

Yeah you can make use of the 0591 infotype for nomination as this standard infotype and even county specific for india check in table V_T582L.

So no problem in using it but there is no standard application in ESS where the employee can update but you have to customize the same.

Hope this clears the doubt.

The infotype having below standard subtypes , so can i remove all of them and put new subtypes with our description?

BNES ESI Benefit

BNGR Gratuity Benefit

BNMB Maternity Act Benefit

BNPF PF Benefit

BNPN Pension Benefit

Yeah you can add your own subtypes and maintain the time constraint of each subtype according to the requirement.

You need not to remove them Piscian, Infact you Shouldn't.

If you take this in functional perpective employees maintain their nominees with respect to this subtype, so we should n't delete them from R/3.

Rather you can do as suggested by MIthun, Create a new subtype without changing the standard, and create a WD-ABAP UI and structure speciafically, call only this subtype from Portal. But while adding this to Personal Information Application make a Zcopy of the standard and add this in Z App and ask your ESS Consultant to use the same Z App in Launch Pad as well.

You are done with your requirement ....
