Business content

I have question regarding the business content installation in development system.

Do I need to install the standard content object and then copy to Z object in the dev. System.

By doing this i will have 2 objects in my dev. system standard as well as ā€˜Zā€™.

Do we have way to keep only Z object while installation of standard object?

Lisa

    Hi Lisa,

its depends business requirement, SAP recommended use SAP standard object then what ever available in BI Content install all objects.

1.Do we have way to keep only Z object while installation of standard object?

ex- 0PUR_C03 - standard purchase cube make a copy of same cube ZPUR_C03. if keeping Z objects not an issue, better solution use all standard objects.

    Thanks,

    Phani.

    Hi Lisa,

If your business requirement is getting fulfilled by standard Business Content then you don't need to go for Z custom objects.

We are going for Z objects only when there is no Standard object available for your requirement.

Standard Business Content has many in-built features which we are very tough to achieve in Z custom objects.

Try to use Standard Object in maximum requirement.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Vipin

    Hi,

    Lisa

Yes, In order to create a Z object of a standard BI content object, first you have to activate the BI Content object and then by copying the standard object you can create a Z object.

If you create a Z object as above, you will be seeing two objects in development:-

    1. Standard BI Content Object, and
    2. Z object (i.e., copy of Standard BI Content Object)

EX:- Two objects are seen like below:-

    1. 0PUR_C03 (Standard BI Content Object), and
    2. ZPUR_C03 (copy of Standard BI Content Object)

Note:- You are not allowed to create and replace a Z object by copying standard BI Content object. ***You should not delete standard objects.

    Thanks & Regards,

      Hi Lisa,

If you want to add some fields or remove some unnecessary fields according to your business requirement, you can use your standard business content info cube as a template to create Z info cube and you can add or delete the objects.

You can add both standard business content info objects and custom info objects, according to your requirement.

      Thanks & Regards,
