This seems to be a logon prompt from your database. We have a similar thing here. We use an Oracle database. The first time we run the report, we are promped for a username and password. Once we have established the connection, then the username and password is no longer required, unless we close Crystal and re-open.

It looks like you're running the report from within Crystal, is that correct? If you're not using a trusted connection to the database that will automatically get your network credentials, you will get this because you have to log in to the database before you can get the data for the report.

    • I am certainly no expert in database connection matters. I am a report designer. However, I had to set up an Oracle database connection using the Connection Expert. That lets me in, but I have to use the login credentials every time I run a report for the first time. I can refresh the report as many times as I want after that and am not asked again. I just have to authenticate the connection the first time.

There may be some way around that, but I think it will take working with your DBA to do so.

    Hi Venkatesh,

First remove all references to this prompt from the report like selection formulas etc.

Then go to the Field Explorer > Right click the prompt you wish to delete and select Delete.

If the prompt has been created in the Command Object the delete it from there.
