Revenue Recognition

Hi,

Please guide if the below requirement is possible to implement through Standard SAP Revenue recognition (VF44)

Current billing plan pattern includes 21 billing plan items.. each billing plan item correspond to billing for one quarter

e.g. Invoice 123 for period 01.04.2013 to 30.06.2013 - lets suppose Invoice amount is 50000

I am working on time based revenue recognition . Start & end dates for revenue recognition are coming from the billing plan.

Current Scenario :

If I go for standard revenue recognition i.e. through transaction VF44 then complete amount 50000 gets distributed equally over a period of three months automatically. i.e. from 1st april to 30th june. this is ok.

The new requirement is to recognize only partial amount ( Lets suppose 40000 out of Invoice value of 50000) over a billing plan period .i.e. from 1st April to 30th june 2013.

The remaining 10000 balance revenue needs to be recognized at some time time in the subsequent years. Billing plan in the sales contract is not having any details of these future dates.

e.g.

Billing plan item : 01-04-2013 to 30-06-2013 

Invoice number - 123

Invoice amount : 50000

is it possible through standard SAP revenue recognition to recognize only 40000 over a billing plan period.

Hi,

What are you are looking for is a Milestone Billing based revenue recognition for this 40,000 and  10,000 scenario, otherwise, you are only looking for Periodic Billing most of the other times.

I dont think both are possible together.

My knowledge of Rev. Rec. is a little bit rusty, but I can dig into it if needed.
