Do we have application layer in SAP HANA ?

Hi to all,

As we know that in SAP ERP or CRM system we have R3 Layer Architecture.

As every calculation and storage is done in HANA database, do we have application layer in HANA?.

If yes, then what is use of application layer in SAP HANA ?.

Generally, In ERP we have 3 layer architecture

If we are using ERP on HANA or Suite on HANA we will still have 3 layer architecture and application layer sits in application server

But we can also utilize the application server inbuilt in HANA and can have 2 tier architecture
