How to implement Time and payroll for Casual labor, Need experts suggestion

Dear Experts,

I am implementing payroll and time management in my current, the functionality is to configure for Contract labours (Client want to bring the contract labourers into SAP)

  1. They are using third party time system for capturing
  2. The contract labour can even work for 16 hours a day
  3. The shift for the next day will be decided the previous day
  4. The payment will be based on the work they do in the each shift (example: Different wage for specified work)
  5. End of the month they will cumulate all the amount and will be paid
  6. They also applicable for all statutory deductions
  7. They also applicable for leaves/Off (If they continuously for 6 days, they will get one day off) and public holiday (If the work 30 days in the past 90 days, they are applicable for commencing holiday)

I have ideas for payroll, but I need help in Time management, in this scenario what to maintain for work schedule? Whether the time evaluation can be used? Kindly suggest me some ideas

    Dear Narish,

    regarding the first three points

    • They are using third party time system for capturing (assume: detailed clock in and out are recorded)
    • The contract labour can even work for 16 hours a day
    • The shift for the next day will be decided the previous day

    I suggest doing one workscedule with the main shift (morning shift for example) and the other shifts created as daily workschedules.

    let the shift assignments are done by dynamic assignments based on clock in (time management with clock entry or through substittion from infotype 2003

    Hi Narseh,

    Configure everything similar to what you configure for regular.


    Create a "Work Schedule rule" according to your requirement..

    • 16 hours a day
    • leaves/Off

    • In IT 0007 maintain Time Mgmt Status as "8-External Services".

    Whether the time evaluation can be used?


    • Attendance are recorded in this case & Time data is accounted in Time evaluation.
