Failed to create the application. (DS 1.2)

I'm attempting to use Design Studio 1.2 and am unable to create a new application.

I've tried creating Desktop, iPad, and iPhone target devices.

I'm running Windows 7. I've updated Java (now 1.7.45) I verified that I have IE 9 on the machine.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled...even uninstalled 1.2 and reinstalled 1.1 SP2 and uninstalled that and reinstalled 1.2 again.

I've cleaned out the C:\Users\(user)\Analysis-config and Analysis-workspace folders.

Here is a sample of the error messages that I just can't seem to shake...please advise!

I get about 40 of these every time I tried to create an application.

Have you seen Victor's reply to some installation issues - at http://scn.sap.com/thread/3462833

Issues have occurred by not selecting the right installation file - whether it should be a patch versus full installation

    • Finally figured this one out! I noticed that in the C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Design Studio\plugins folder that I had files with both a May 2013 (from a DS 1.1 SP2 install) and Nov 2013 (from DS1.2) timestamp. My coworker, with a working install of 1.2 only had the files from Nov 2013. So, I uninstalled DS 1.2. Saw the remaining files from May 2013. I cleaned out the folder, reinstalled DS 1.2 and all is well! 😊
