Run time error /Report execution error?

While  trying to create a  new report  i am getting following error.

Hi Siva,

1. Open SAP GUI,
2. Run RZ10 transaction,
3. Enter the parameter: icm/server_port_0  and set the value to: PROT=HTTP,PORT=XXXX,TIMEOUT=600,PROCTIMEOUT=600
4. Save the modifications,
5. Restart BW instance.

And just a thought - go to transaction SM59 at the backend and check MDX PARSER connection.

I tried to check the Sm59 for learning perspective but could not understand what exactly MDX parser will give details to understand the rootcause of issue.

Hi Jack, well, the MDX PARSER in an integral part of NW and the vital part of BPC. As the name suggests it is a multi dimensional expressions parser - a subsystem that knows what exactly to do with your MDXs (and every BPC query is actually an MD expression). Sometimes MDX parser connection gives you timeouts or errors due to the parser being outdated or not properly set up during the NW installation. In that case you won't be able to run any queries, create any schedules, etc.

It means that there is a timeout for report generation... Do you get it for a specific report or for all reports?

I am getting this error while trying to create new report ie just when i pressed EPM--->NEWREPORT

selected dimensions in rows and columns and pressed ok then i am getting the above error.
