Oracle DataGuard - Redolog transfer compression

Hi

Our client has puchased the SAP Enterprise License and would like to implement the Oracle dataguard for our SAP system.

The system details are as below:

1. SAP system : SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5
2. Operating System: Window 2008 R1
3. Database : Oracle 11.2.0.3

Please clarify below doubts :

1. To implement the oracle redolog transfer in compression mode deoes the license is required. The configuration details where we should put the compression is as below:

LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2='SERVICE=RQ9 ASYNC NOAFFIRM VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILE, PRIMARY_ROLE) REOPEN=60 COMPRESSION=ENABLE DB_UNIQUE_NAME=RQ9_PRD' LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2='ENABLE'

2. Can I used the above compression method ? If yes then what is the compression % , please suggestion.

Regards

Vimal

    Yes,

Data guard compression is one of the feature of ACO, It is part of your enterprise license.

On implementation part, Search for Oracle's documents.

It gives 3x compression ratio as per the customer's feedback, so you can have speedy transfer (3 times).

    Regards,

    Hello

If the database is licensed through SAP then this feature is included.

If the database is licensed through Oracle then this is an additional option.
