LDAP plugin: Can I access two domains? (Linux server)

Hello All,

My CMS is running on a Linux box and I am using LDAP (mapped to AD) to authenticate users.

Now I am looking to bring in users from a different domain. Is this something that's supported by the LDAP plugin? I dont see an option to add a second domain.

Version: BO 4.0 (SP 04)

Thanks for your time!

Hi Nemi,

LDAP plugin support only one domain, multiple Forest can only be configured through AD.

But you can add multiple domain in LDAP if they are in same forest and has a common O.

if you still want to configure multiple forest through LDAP it is possible and it can be done through ADAM server.

configure your ADAM server with all the Domain and then configure single ADAM in LDAP plugin as AD.

Hope this is helpful.

If it were in the same forest is it as simple as adding the groups from this 2nd domain? Is there any configuration involved. How would the LDAP plugin access this 2nd domain (that is the same forest).

It does not require any extra configuration just add the other domain IP or FQDN in the same LDAP configuration wizard.

".. if they are in same forest and has a common O."

And now the embarrassing question, Whats O?

As you can tell I am not aware of the structure.

I think Raunak wants to mention 'O'rganisation Unit  (ou)
