disp+work stopped

Hi,

Incident :

Upon starting instance in SAP MMC the disp+work is stopped due to bad dialog queue.

Opinion : I assume that SAP is not connected to database MS SQL 2008. is there a way I can add a parameter for r3trans or environmental variable to connect the database. Please advise or maybe there are other solutions that can help

Note : Already checked the profile

Already done with kernel upgrade

Already checked the hostfile.

None of the suggestion works the assumed above is only option.

Paul

    Hi

Can you please verify that the SQL DB is up and running ..

Determine Whether the Database Engine Is Installed and Started

if it is up and running , try running R3trans -D and give the last lines of the trans.log file.

    Thanks

    Hi Paul,

Most probably the SAP application could not connect to the database (if the database is successfully brought up already).

The best is to issue command R3trans -d with user <sid>adm.
It will generate trans.log on the same directory. Please attach the log so others would be able to help.

    Thanks & regards,
    Henry G.
