Setup of DR Site for SAP ECC 6.0 EhP3

Dear Expert,

We would like to build DR for our SAP Production server.

Please help me to decide following.

Production Server Details (Existing Setup):-

HP Blade Server : 2 Nos.

HP SAN : 1 No. connected to the both HP Server.

Operating System : MS-Windows Ent. Server 2008 R2, configured with MS-Cluster.

Database : MS-SQL 2008 R2.

Server Host Name 1 : PRDSVR1

Server Host Name 2 : PRDSVR2

Server 1 IP Address :

Server 2 IP Address :

Application Server IP :

ASCS Instance No. : 04

SCS Instance No. : 05

ERS ASCS Instance No. : 06

ERS SCS Instance No. : 07

Central Instance No. : 08

  1. Do we need same setup of hardware like Server with SAN (Storage Device)?
  2. Do we need to install same MS-Cluster or stand along server is enough i.e. Windows Ent. Server 2008 R2?
  3. What should be the following:-
  4. Host Name of server?
  5. SID?
  6. Instance ID?
  7. IP Address of server?
  8. Do we require external software for replicating the data?
  9. What will be the time interval of data replication between Primary & DR Server?
  10. Post-Installation Step?

We want to implement in to different locations, and we are running MPLS VPN in both the locations.

We want same time of data should copy or replicate between both servers as it should work like Cluster.

Whenever something fails or down in one location in terms of internet connection, hardware issue, power issue or etc therefore it should up from other location. It should 0% data lose. For this we will integrate dedicated bandwidth MPLS connection to the both servers.

I need step by step answer, please help me for the above.

Thanks & Regards

    1) You need same storage amount as your production server as your database size will remain same.

    2) Generally, DR server is installed without HA. But it depends upon your requirement.

    3) It can differ from primary.

    4) & 5) SID and Instance ID will be same as of production server.

    6) IP address will be different.

    7) & 8) It depends how you want to design DR site. You can refer to SAP note 965908.
