Never ending Jobs during the upgrade

hello

I'm having one issue and have no idea how to solve this. we're having issue with EWA and SAP support suggested to upgrade the Abap/java stack and during the upgrade process i got DDIC_Activation error and upgrade did stop anyway, because DISP+WORK is running all the time and new jobs are running as well. Is there a way hos to stop this nightmare and do some other tasks that are needed to be executed in order to solve DDIC_Activation issue? Even if I restart the Solman server nothing happens, the same jobs are running in circles...

I'm not Sap basis guy, but need to solve this somehow? reinstall Solman?

Hi,

Have you did the ABAP/JAVA stack upgrade using SPAM/SAINT transaction or SUM tool?

My sincere advice to involve the BASIS consultant to resolve the same.

Yes, I know that Basis would be good choose, but there are no options to get one. We're going with SolMan just because SAP is asking for that, our daily activities are SAP BO and Sybase portfolios.

I started the upgrade with Saint, but now it has stopped in DDIC_Activation and I have no idea what to do etc..

Hi,

Check for the import logs and nature of error.

SAINT->goto->import logs.

Not sure whether you can sort this out.

Nothing useful is written there - all processes have status 'Success', in logs there are few lines that one program is missing, but I cannot execute it, because these jobs are running all the time

go to OS level and check the latest log files from usr/sap/trans/tmp and attach the log.

Also check in transaction STMS_IMPORT --> Goto --> Import monitor --> Goto --> display TP system logs and copy/paste the last few entries.

Do you mean you are applying patches? or complete upgrade from 7.x to 7.1??

no need to re-install. check the logs in SPAM if you are applying patches.

or for upgrade check the logs in the SUM directory (patch of SUM/abap/log)

SPS04 to SPS10. I found that few programs needs to be executed in order to succeed with upgrade, but when I try to execute these in Se38, then System says that job is still running and program cannot be executed. is there a way how to remove all jobs from the queue ?
