unable to delimit the OM Position Object (HRP1000)

Hello All,

i am facing a strange issue.

I see there are positions which having 1000 object only (there is no relationships). I tried to delimit these positions from PP01 or PPOME to 30.12.2013 but system is not allowing me to delimit saying that "No authorization to delimit object 01 S XXXXXXXXX".

I also tried using report RHGRENZ4 to delimit these objects however when ever i give the position id and tried to delimit with new delimit end date it doesn't show any results.

Also i tried with SAP ALL access and all other access from the roles and authorization i have tried but nothing works out.

I also observed that these position which i was trying to delimit were created by user SAP (i saw in user creation) and i need to delimit these positions as these are not in use.

Can someone pls help me.

Regards

Vj

I tried to figure it out the way to delimit but wonder is that the right way

Anywayz just like to share here the way i have done

Firstly when i select the position and select the the status change and choose the propose change option in the menu then system is directly asking the new validity date which can be entered and also the delimit date for that particular position. But the catch here is that after saving it automatically goes to the planned version and after saving we may need to delete the planned version entry manually again and if we see it in Active version then the postion dates are delimited.

Hello All,

Thanks for the reply.

However as i said i tried in all means earlier logging in the DE language and tried to delimit, also with SAP all i have checked and tried to delimit, also checked with all authorizations with * also but nothing has worked right to delimit those positions which were created by SAP by default in the our HR system.

But delimit happens to positions which were created by us, Is there any possiblity that the positions which were created by SAP user we are not permissible to delimit ?

If auth issue is structural, sap_all is not enough. have you checked structural auth?

i never delimited those samples, as no need to keep them. So, always deleted them with the OM database tool, which worked fine.

Hi Vijay,

Instead of delimiting the position try to make the position as obsolete . Hope this works out.

Hi Vijay,

This is clearly an authorization issue. Roles assigned to you should have following authorizations at least.

Object: PLOG

Infotype                       1000

Planning Status                *

Object Type                    S

Plan Version                   *

Function Code                  AEND, CUT

Subtype                        *

Please add above auth to a test role and assign it to your userid. You should be able to delimit the position.

HI Vijay,

firstly: if they were created as examples by SAP and never used, why not delete them rather than delimit them? That would be cleaner.

The message says, you lack authorisation. Have you checked authorisations using transaction SU53 immediately after the fail? Delimit and delete can be separate codes required in authorisation object PLOG. So, if you only have rights to view and change it may not be enough. The second possible authorisation issue can be structural authorisation. As these objects are not included in any structure, you won't have rights, if rights for changes come through the structure rather than given for all positions.

Finally:

I've seen similar issues, when objects where not created in the logon language. Check with transaction SE16, which languages these objects exist in. If it's not your logon language, log on in that other language and try again.

kind regards

Sven

Hi Vijay,

Have u tried the same in Dev or Quality system. Usually COP function is not possible for Objects.

But Delimit Function is possible for position. Also please check whether you have  select All in Time Period and try the same.

Or else u can check with ANST- SAP Note automatic search tool and execute the same so that if any correction is required u can get the notes automatically.

Thanks & Regards
