Tutorials developing SAP mobile applications using UI5,ODATA and SMP

can any one please provide any tutorials consuming ODATA via SMP with UI5.  Is SMP mandatory in this?

Our scenario is to consume ODATA and build hybrid applications targeting all major platforms.

SMP is not mandatory. You can develop a UI5 application using oData without SMP. If it is a desktop sapui5 application, I do not see a need of SMP.

But in productive scenarios for mobile applications, SMP provides many capabilities which you will find very useful. (Like user OnBoarding, Device management etc)
