Hi
Can anyone detail me the purpose of plannes cockpit where we link sale & manufacturing.
How it plays its role in date management?
Naga,
I have never seen a 'Planners Cockpit' in Basic ECC. Can you please elaborate? Which transaction are you talking about?
I am told that the AFS solution has some kind of cockpit, but I have never worked on AFS. I have also heard that there is also some king of planning cockpit in the HR module, but I have never worked this module either.
In PP, the most common places to work on both supply and demand orders for the purpose of managing dates are MD04 and MD05.

Naga,
Generically, 'Sales' is considered to be 'Demand' and 'Manufacturing' is considered to be 'Supply'. SAP devotes an entire module within the ECC solution designed to manage the relationships (including dates) between Supply and Demand. This module is called Production Planning (PP), which is the topic of this forum. Other than the items mentioned earlier, I am unaware of a 'cockpit' that meets your requirements in the PP solution.
For companies that want additional features that are not supported in PP, SAP also sells another entire solution called APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) which has even more features designed to manage the relationships between Supply and Demand. This solution has its own collection of SCN forums. Similarly to PP, I am unaware of a 'cockpit' in APO that meets your requirements.
SAP also offers a number of solutions under the Netweaver umbrella that contain 'cockpits' of various types; I would assume that one or more of these would have 'cockpit' functionality that relates to your query. It is also outside the scope of this forum to help you with such Netweaver questions.
SCN postings are intended to be focused on specific and limited topics. Posters who wish to see general concepts discussed are mostly disappointed - some people devote entire careers to understanding the links between Sales and Manufacturing in SAP. If you could elaborate on your request, it might be possible to help you here.
In the meantime, here are some general topics that you might want to look through :
Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library
MRP List and Stock/Requirements List - Material Requirements Planning (PP-MRP) - SAP Library
SAP offers some nice classes for users who are unfamiliar with the SAP PP solution. One that may be of interest to you is
SC240E - Production Planning in ERP | SAP Training and Certification Shop
since it does not require you to travel to take the course.
