Benchmarking process

Hi Everybody,

Can you give the details that what process is been followed at various industries for the following case:

If finished good is been packed in 200L, 25L and 5L then one FG code is used or three different FG code are been used.

For example if Sulphuric Acid is been stored in storage tank and then dispatch in 200L, 25L and 5L then industries use same code or different codes for each packed sized.

Regards,

Sun

    Hi,

In case of having inventory(qty and value ) for each packing unit, you should go for the three different FG codes for different pakcing size if the packaging material also incurrs cost .For Bulk , you define it as SFG, which can be part of 200 L with 200 L of SFG Bulk Sulphuric acid + Packaging materials.

      Hi

You can define sulphuric acid as SFG. Address packing activity with Production order then you get benefit whatever packing material you use and what activities you perform for each consignment. I hope your excise problem also it will solve.

    Hi Riser

This depends on your business .

After Sulphuric acid manufacturing you will transfer the product in to storage tank .Then when selling the acid based on customer specifications we will pack and sell the acid.

    Example

    1) If acid is needed to use further in bulk reactions then they will give order to pack in 200L drums.

    2) If acid is needed to use further small addition in reactions say to adjust PH then they will give order to pack in 25L Cans.

    3) If acid is needed to use further in testing materials at labs then they will give order to pack in 5L bottles.

The customer will give specification about Acid like purity, density, MR, Assay etc. based on usage.

    Process to be followed:

Case 1: If you are selling this acid for all customers with same specifications you can follow same code.

Case 2: If you are selling this acid for different customers with different specifications say for industries as IR grade and For Labs as LR grade then you have to use different codes.

    • Hi,

You can have chapter id for packaged goods as well and declare the stock of them as when you pack them and put them in bonded storgae location, ahd update the RG1 with these packaged units and that storage location. You can declare the material excisable and maintain J1ID for the same.

Check with your CIN consultant and your statutory authorities.

    Hi,

You may use Handling unit to have diff pack size but single material code. YOu may achieve this during delivery/PGI for sales order.
