Unable to add new servers in CMC

Hi,

To rewind a little, I've recently installed a new BOE BI Xi 3.1 Enterprise on a new VM running Windows 2008 R2 server. Even though I've selected the options to install all the servers during installation such as Input Repository, Output Repository, Jobs Server, etc, in the SIA... I only see CMS running.

From my online readings, it looks like I have to go to CMC to add new servers (which by intuition, i had thought that i should be able to do that in CCM!)... in any case, so i logged in using the Administrator user account via Enterprise authentication and navigated to the Servers (manage) section and then tried to add "new" server... a message keeps popping up "Sorry, you do not have the right to execute this action. If you require this right, please see your system administrator."...

What gives?? For giggles, I've also created a new user account and added it to the Administrator group. Logged in with the new user account and same message???

Am I missing something here?

    Hi Again...

So, I re-created SIA #2 and all of the servers appeared! Now, how do you remove the 1st SIA? Or is it necessary since the service is stopped?

    Thank Arvind!

First important thing in such scenario is to see the installation logs which should be available in BusinessObjects folder at server.

The logs would help in identifying what properties went missing.

I hope you did try to create a new SIA. If no please do the same and share your observation.

    Hi Jeff,

Check the below article which says "Database access" component not being selected while installation may cause this.

You may even want to look at the license that you are using for the installation.

    Regards,

    Shafi
