CATS- Manual selection of Approver on ESS.

Hello Experts,

We have a requirement where the employee must be able to select his approver manually from a field and send his time sheet for approval. Same as we have in Leave Request. Reply will be appreciated.

There is no standard functionality available for CATS like ESS leave request approver selection.

But, you can enhance the application to add one custom field for approver selection in CATS and customize the WF task for approver value in your workflow.

Hi Shankar,

I really appreciate your response but the requirement is that the employee needs to select the approver manually. As far as i know, SAP has provided additional fields in data entry section which can be used for customer enhancement. Here i need to add those additional field as Approver coloumn. Can you help me out in this?

You need to add your own custom field

If you notice there is a task called

TS31000004: CATS Approval

which allows in CAT2 but not in ESS. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/42/cea31b38321368e10000000a1553f7/content.htm?frame... for this you need to enhance the application, are you using WD ABAP or WD JAVA?

no it is not possible manual selection of approver in ESS

Thanks. I think we must go for custom development as manual selection of approver is mandatory.
