Problem to update shipping texts on sales order

Hi Experts,

I tried searching for this on the forum. And although there are queries, no one has answered this.

I am using BAPI 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE' to update shipping texts on sales order.

Now the text at the header does get updated properly but the item text does not get updated.

I pass the following Parameters:

order_header_inx-updateflag = 'U'. (There is no difference with ā€˜Iā€™ as well)

order_item_inx-itm_number = 6 char item

order_item_inx-updateflag = 'U'. (There is no difference with ā€˜Iā€™ as well)

order_text-doc_number = order

order_text-itm_number = 6 character item
order_text-text_id = the appr text id (which is 100 percent correct)
order_text-langu = EN
order_text-format_col = * (This is not mandatory).

order_text-function = 009 (No difference with 004 005)

Item text is not updated.

For me save_text or create_text is not an option. I want to use the BAPI only.

Please help.

Regards,

Ashish

    Hi @Ashish Trivedi

    Can you check "order_text-doc_number = order" ?

if leading with zero required then use "CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT" FM before assign Document Number to "order_text-doc_name ".

    Regard's

    Hi Ashish,

The BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE is calling the inside FM SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CHANGE.

Can you debug the below routine and find the root cause to fill the sales order texts

    perform ms_move_sales_text_in tables return
    sales_text. ( Line 760)

    Hi All,

All basic programming has been taken care of.

I call the BAPI and then commit. The BAPI shows success message in the return table, but does not update the item text. Manully it is possible to do this. There are no problems when updating the header texts.

    Ashish

    All,

Just to clarify, there are no issues with commit and the commit is called at the end. As I said, I am able to update the header text.

The below is passed for header text which successfully updates the header:

    order_header_inx-updateflag = 'U'.

    order_text-doc_number = order

order_text-text_id = the appr text id

    order_text-langu = EN

    order_text-function = 009

For item, the following extra lines are passed, but these lines make no difference. Is there anything wrong with the code?

    order_item_inx-itm_number = 6 char item

    order_item_inx-updateflag = 'U'. (This is an table)

    order_text-itm_number = 6 character item

    Hello,

Please pass this value 005 to the field "function". before test at-least enter some text in long text column. if it will working fine the try without text.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Ashish,

What ever vallues you are passing to ORDER_ITEM_IN the corresponding 'X' values need to pass to ORDER_ITEM_INX.

You might have missing some values either of any structure.

    Cheers,

    Pravin
