Times Errors - 1. Data outside of Storage Bucket profile 2. Offest Incorrect Shift Entry

Please forgive me I've tried for a couple hours to resolve through search and trial and error, but I am learning configuration with IDES.  I've tried to provde the necessary screen shots of the areas and data.

1. Data Outside of Storage Buckets Profile

Following error msg.

2.  Insufficient shift entry found and deletes.  Example:  Offset 1 or 2.

How to correct offset error when adding # offset periods.

Hello Kevin,

To resolve Problem#1 above,  Initialize the planning area with appropriate 'From Date' and 'To Date' using SE38 program :  /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE. Once your planning area is initialized covering 1 or 2 years in future. You will not get this error : Date outside Storage Buckets Profile area.

Based on your time bucket profile (//TR30), I understand you want to show 4 quarters of data in display periodicity of "Month".

Now regarding  Problem#2 : Insufficient shift entry found and deleted.  Example:  Offset 1 or 2. I have following information share -

Based on SAP Help, This is how Offset works. Number of offset periods that is applied to the future or history horizon.  For both forecast and historical data a positive offset means that period is moved to the future and a negative offset means it is moved to the past. To use this option, you must define the future and historical forecasting horizons by entering numbers of periods. Do not enter From and To dates.

Thank you.  Both your suggestions corrected my problems.

IDES was down yesterday and I had to learn how to connect the database.  I am a functional user, but all good I did it.  This is FUN learning.

1.  Initialize Planning Area.  See my picture, not sure if I am on a newer version or older version, but I was able to initialize by extending future Global Period in /TSINIT vs /TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE.

2.  I simply forgot that you MUST use + or -.  That's it.

I am glad you are having fun while learning some APO technical things. It is always an advantage for functional person to know technical things.

Both  /TSINIT and /TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE opens the same screen which is used for initializing the planning area.   Difference is /SAPAPO/TSINIT is a Transaction Code where as /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE is ABAP Program which can be run using Transaction Code : SE38.

Hello, As Satish suggested, extending the initialization horizon of the planning area with report /sapapo/ts_parea_initialize will solve the first issue.

For the second issue, you'll need to input a number with a sign, e.g. -1, -2, +1, +2, instead of just 1 or 2.
