Assiging roles to User

Hi all,

I've created an user and a role .

Now I want to assign that role to the user. from where I can do this?,

I tried to give in User Administration->Search .. now it's displaying my user .. now I've to assign particular role to that user ID.. how can i do it?, please help me

Log in as a user that has the User Administration Role.

GoTo User Administration->Roles

Type user id in Search box, and select in Users.

Click start

Once user is return, click Edit. You should be able to assign roles in the right hand side of the Content Area under Role Assignment

There are two ways of assigning roles to users.

<b>1. Select a role and add several users to it.</b>

i. Go to User Administration -> Roles.

ii. In the search field give your role name, select Roles and when upon getting the result, click on Edit.

iii. Now in the seach field at the bottom right corner, give your user ids and click on Start. Upon getting the results, check the user and click on Add.

iv. Save your settings.

iii. Now in the seach field at the bottom right corner, give your role names and click on Start. Upon getting the results, check the roles that you need to assign to the users and click on Add.

iv. Save your settings.

User Admin - > Roles - > In the dropdwn combo box, selct 'Users' and type ur portal id .and click search.

Do Edit .

U Will get a screen with 2 frames ..

one is 'detailed info' and the other is 'Role Assignment'

In the Role Assignment frame ,click search ...

All the roles in the system will be displayed .

SElect the Role and click 'ADD'

That role will be added to the Top window.

4.

Click the 'SAVE' Button on the right frame .
