Is Pre DME mandatory

Hi ,

Is it mandatory to run the pre-dme programe ?

In our company some of the employees receive salary in cash and remaining as bank transfer. Doing bank transfer is not through EFT, finance will prepare a sheet with all employee's bank account numbers and one check for the total amount and give it to the bank. In this situation do we need to run the pre-dme report since there is no direct transfer of salary to bank and DME is not set up by the finance.

The use of the pre-dme is to generate two parameters the date and an identification feature which we would be using for Direct Deposits/cheque for each employee's account.

In your case it is not needed if the customer is using third party tool to achieve the same, but why not push the customer to use the program?

Hi Upendra,

Thanks for the reply. I have two questions here,

1. If is insist my company to user pre-dme, then DME has to be set up, which is Finance job. Is it right. And this would require EFT - Electronic Fund Transfer or with EFT can it be done?

2. In pre-dme, can i get a report for all employees which gives me bank account number and the amount that is transferred. Right now  i am not able to see a report for all employees, i can see for individual employees saperatly.

Please advise, your help is required.

Hi Vipul,

1. Yes, technically the House Banks and their keys has to be set up by finance team but we can also do that if we have the information (but better keep away unless you want to gain knowledge), and you have to maintain the feature DTAKT.  Before all these the 0009 has to be maintained for each EE with Payment method N/B.

2. As I have said earlier the Pre-DME is only for creating two unique parameters 1. identification feature, 2. a date related to it.

3. You'l access FPYAM (payment Medium Creation) and enter the above parameters and select the payment medium format as ACH and execute, (this will be transferred to bank manually/automatically if any EDI is set up) then the output will be with all the details you have mentioned i.e individual amounts, total amounts, account numbers etc.

4.  In case if you want to see a report before all these actions you can set up the same in CLJN with print formats as uddh, uddc, uddd, uddt. the prequisites will be Payroll has been run and 0009 maintained.
