IM-WM Stock differences in Return

I have a situation as below.

It seems that during sales return the WM was not linked thus the stock is in MM but not in WM.

The storage location is now WM managed and the stock has to be brought in WM.

There is a difference of 72,000 Pc in LX23.

In IM Return Stock- 72,0000

in WM Return Stock- 0

I tried in several ways eg creating Physical inventory, moving to another S.Loc nothing worked as there will be negative quant created which will inturn post additional stock in MM.

Please advice.

Check LL01 transaction is there any open documents for this stock. You can use LX23 transaction to clear differences between IM/WM.

    • Hello,

This is strange scenario and therefore you have to play some trick to bring the stock at WM level. You can try below and check whether the solution is feasible. However please note this is an exceptional scenario and hence should be carefully handle.

Use LT01 with movement type 999 and stock type R in initial screen. Source storage type would be 999 with suitable bin ex- ADJUSTMENT or any other bin and destination storage type-bin would be the Bin where the stock exist in warehouse. Post the transaction. As a result, -ve quant would be created in interim storage type 999 and with stock in warehouse that should be equal to IM stock with stock type R. Next step is to delete the quant from LQUA in 999 area by making table entry. Actually I don't want to recommend this this but as I said this is an exceptional scenario and you want to get rid of the discrepancies, this is one of the option which would not create any additional accounting entries.

      All the BEST!!

It is a inconsistency, there are not much options to clear inconsistencies.

on option is to remove the assignment of your WM from the IM location (customizing change which needs to be transported), then you move the part in IM to another location which is not warehouse managed, then you activate the WM assignment again, and move the material from the other location back to your WM location. This is usually not possible during working hours. So you need a time spot to do this activity otherwise you screw up even more.

The second option is to do a LX23, this will make the IM stock zero too.

After this you create a new IM stock and this will then create the quant in WM too.

In any case you will get material movements, and if the return is valuated, then as well accounting documents, this cannot be avoided, but they should equalize to zero at the end.
