Storage type creation

I have very basic question. need a detailed clarity.

When I am checking the document for ware house structure (from best business practices) I noticed rack storage for small parts.

Bin characteristics says 1 europallet per bin. Storage type characteristics says HU is not allowed.

If HU is not allowed for the storage type - how a pallet is placed in the storage bin?

to me both are contradictory statements. can any one throw some idea..

your help is very much appreciated.

Hm, where do the "bin characteristics" come from? I suppose this refers to something like the HU type check?

There is a difference between the HU type which is allowed, and a HU, which has its own unique number.

When putting away material it is always assumed it is on some kind of pallet, wire cage, or in a box. The system can control what type that is.

But when you have a HU you can move this HU with all it's content. And you might not want to have HUs in certain areas.

    Does that help?
