SAP has a roadmap for implementing the core ALM functions:

    Run SAP Roadmaps:

Implement End-to-End Solution Operations along the Life Cycle

    http://service.sap.com/alm-methodologies

This outlines the 5 phases of implementing an ALM strategy.

Roadmap to Implement End-to-End Solution Operations

In the implementation of operations processes, several parties may be involved: The company, system integrators, the support organization, outsourcing partners, and hardware partners. For this reason, you need to coordinate all the activities to implement the operations processes as one or more consecutive projects.

This End-to-End Solution Operations project(s) should be handled and organized like any other implementation project. There can be further implementation/upgrade projects in parallel as well.

Whilst the implementation roadmap for these functional and technical projects would be the ASAP methodology the corresponding roadmap for the End-to-End Solution Operations of the IT is the Run SAP methodology.

The roadmap for Run SAP is structured on a time axis and guides you in phases through the project. Key phases are the scope definition of the future operations processes, the preparation of a detailed project plan, the implementation of the processes, and finally the operation and optimization of your SAP solution. Moreover, it will help you to find the right strategy and tools to implement your End-to-End Solution Operations.

Run SAP provides detailed assistance through every phase, as described in the figure above.
