Any impact on changing system Status CSER to Release forbidden for production orders

Hi Experts,

Business users are not checking any costing errors during production order release and its a time consuming job to fix the master data issues after order release. So we would like to activate Release forbidden(business transaction BFRE) in system status CSER. I know that once this is done orders cannot be released until costing errors are fixed. Is there any other impact/side effect in activating this setting.

Thanks in advance

Rijil

    Hello

This is a modification on the standard status and that should always be avoided.

I suggest you to create a user status instead of changing a standard status.

      Hi All,

Thanks for your reply. Business is against using user exits or enhancements. I tried using user status but not sure how to set it automatically during system status CSER. I would prefer to set user status to prevent release automatically during system status CSER is set and delete if there is no costing error. I could not find any option to achieve this. Costing errors are normally happening during year end when activity cost is not extended or due to some formula errors in work centers.

      Thanks

    Hi Raj,

This is common error done by users, they do not check the status CSER on orders.

If you restrict the order release then modifying the SAP standard system will not be recommended. so you can either use User status or use custom development for not to release order if you want.

Or else, Only impact happens when you try to do confirmation of order, that time you can set the error message and do not allow confirmation of order. Before confirmation also this error can be rectified.

So this will help you to achieve the fool proof method.

    Hello Rijil,

Changes in the standard system status are not recommended at all. Please do note that these are effective for other objects in the system like maintenance orders etc.

To block the release for system status CSER you can make use of user status (T code BS02). It will offer good control without disturbing the standard system statuses.

Additionally may I ask you what is your exact requirement to block the order for CSER? It normally comes when there is an error in calculation of the planned cost.
