Hi all,
Problem : - Auto valuation is not happening for smaller scope MICs during result recording.
If the "inspected qty" is less than "inspect qty" in result recording auto valution is not happening. I use smaller scope in control indicator of the MIC. in sampling procedure I used fixed sample type and valuation based on attribute inspection according to non confirming units.
what could be the reason?.
The system doesn't know exactly how much smaller your sample size is than the max, so it leaves the MIC open. We train our users to F8 (close) smaller scope MIC's when they are done and haven't entered the max number of results available.
You could possibly also have a user exit do this.

Hi,
I'm not sure at this moment what could be the reason. Never worked with smaller scopes actually. I ran a test by changing the scope of MIC, but in my case valuation is done automatically. I do not know where to look for possible reasons rightnow !
I would like you to share some details so that I can run a similar test with your settings.
I think I may provide a reason after running a scenario with your settings. Besides,

Hi Nitin,
Thanks for ur response.
Please check the following condition with MIC set in smaller scope.
1. During result recording enter less inspected qty.
2. Enter equal qty.
3. Enter more qty.
For me scenario 1 does not give auto valuation. However for 2, it is giving auto valuation.
Is it happening for you too?
Thanks for your help.

Can you provide the link for the help document?
I agree with Jim. As long as you haven't recorded the maximum allowed (calculated), the MIC will not be automatically closed. The system doesn't know if you intend to record more results or not.
Once you have recorded the number of results equal to the calculated number allowed, then the system can automatically close the MIC as by definition of using smaller scope you cannot record MORE than the calculated amount.
So while yes.. you can use smaller scope for automatic valuation, that is dependent on the user recording the full number or results allowed. Until that point, you have to manually close the MIC. But by using the smaller scope setting, the system lets that happen without an error and doesn't require a force close on the MIC.
