PP cycle for one FG code.

Hi,

Please provide me the solution for the following problem:

Our chemical unit produce a finished product name Benzyl alcohol which is been sometimes pack in 25L and 200L drums or other-wise we dispatch the same in tanker.

Benzyl alcohol finished product code is B00025 and its contain BOM conponent as R00012 and R00014.

Now management required that code should only one as B00025 and if the products gets packed in 25L or 200L drums then this details also should be given by the system that B00025 was packed in 200L or 25L drums, Quality should also be trigger for this packed material and Issue of drums (which is not in BOM) should also happen through one code of B00025.

Our management does not want Finished Good codes to be extended for 200L and 25L, they want the benefits from one code only.

Please confirm how can we achieve this.

Regards,

Your scenario is fit case for Batch specific unit of measure - product unit.

Since your company wants to use alternate UoMs, Product unsit in Batch specific unit of measure shoudl do the trick. Try and let us know.

    Hi,

You can extend the classification view to material. Then create the class having detail of all the (25L,200L & Drum). Now user who will confirm the production must also know in which it has to store/pack or dispatch. So the user will go to msc2n & update the concern option.

Basis on the above confirmation you have to get issue the packing material (drum etc.). But it will not give you exact costing calculation.

As far as QM is concerned, you have to create MIC in QS21 as Reference Characteristics & maintain the material for specification like (25L, 200L & Drum) in QS61 & use the above Reference MIC in your inspection plan so when material will go in quality inspection, quality inspector need to fill/drill down that material checked was in 25L, 200L or in drum.

    • Hi Gopal/kumar,

Please find the explaination with example

We have maintain BOM as per following :

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finished good code - B00035 ---- Benzyl alcohol (BOM Base qty = 1000 kg)

BOM Component qty (i.e. input qty)

      R00056 ---- Benzene ---- 500 kg

      R00067 ---- Alcohol ------ 500 kg

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So above is the BOM maintained in system and we use the above FG code (B00035) if we dispatch the material in tanker and we if pack the above product in 200kg MS drum whose packing material code in SAP is V00056 then our management want to use the same FG code (B00035) and they want the following things from system:

      1. How many product was been dispatched in tanker and 200L.

      2. Can we issue V00056 (MS drum 200L) against process order, if yes then whether to maintain alternative BOM for it.

      3. How product costing will be done if same code is used for tanker dispatch and 200kg MS drum dispatch.

      4. Inspection lots should get generated in such a manner so that quality person can know that whether the inspection of code B00035 is for tanker or drums.

I hope you got my question now. kindly revert if more clarity is required.
