Xcelsius reset button not working

Hi,

In my dashboard I am filtering data using Combo boxes, Radio buttons and Label based menu (using more than 10 types of filter). As per my client requirement I need to reset Dashboard selection to default by using Reset button. I tried to apply reset button component but some times it's clearing some of my filter with no selection (Like Radio button with none selection). Finally I not able to complete my requirement. Please help me on this.

    Hi All,

    Thanks to you all.

Filters are not cascading. Its complete Dynamic connections using QWAAS.

I checked Select default value for Radio selection by Excel cell and by selecting Label 1.

The dashboard contain three tabs, each tab contain data analysis chats. Over this all tabs I am using ten combo filters and Reset filter. After reset Top ten filters and first tab filters working fine. But I getting problem on tab 2 and tab 3, the filters are not coming back to default.

    Please see attached screenshots.

      Hi Bala,

      Thanks again.

I fixed this issue, as you mentioned dynamic visibility not effecting on radio button.

Here one more thing we need understand, dynamic visibility cell value should refresh value after Reset.

For example Q1,Q2,Q3 and Q4 are using it as radio button selection, Q1 set as default dynamic visibility. select any other value (Q3). After Reset, radio button won't set back to Q1 due to the excel cell value not refreshing. The solution, we need to write a condition on cell to refresh according to our Dashboard functionality by changing tabs or any other.

Note: It's only applicable on working multiple tab scenario.

    Hi Eswar,

Regardless of whichever component you are using to filter data, the "Reset" button component will reset all of the components to their set default state.

If you are making use of cascading filters, then the using a reset button would clear all of the values within the cascaded filter as well. For example:

If you are using a combo box to filter continents, and depending on the selection of the combo box you show countries inside a list box, then the use of a reset button would clear all the values within the list box and reset the value of the combo box to the original state.

Please verify whether you are using a cascading filter.

The components which are being reset with no selection may have no default value selected in Behavior > Common tab in property sheet. Could you please check and confirm ?

    Hi Eswar

Is that different from how the selectors default when you load the dashboard for the first time. Reset in effect will reload your dashboard - basically same as when you preview the XLF or when you open the .SWF.

If \thats what happening then Reset button is working as designed. If not, please post the differences.
