Calibration of equipements

Greeting Experts,

I am new into SAP and have been assigned to look after PM module recently. I need to maintain equipment calibration in SAP and I need few information for that. I have worked with QM module and therefore I know how to activate inspection type, inspection task lists, MICs, maintaining inspection lots etc.

When I look at Material master, inspection type 14 is there but I do not know how to assign this to an equipement.

Can please some one help me in explaing the steps needed to create an equipement, maintenance task lists, activating 14 type inspection lots, inspection characterisitcs, sampling procedure, inspection points etc with required T codes?

I tried to look around in the SCN but could not find a suitable document or relevant thread.

I really hope to get a step by step procedure or similar document so that I can map the equipment calibration in SAP PM.

Kind regards,

Gautam

The following is another configuration setting for PM order to trigger inspection lot, where you need to give value 14 against your Order type.

    Hi PM User,

You need to maintain pre-requisities to start off with Calibration process. Below provided thread would be helpful in which step by step procedure is included.

    Hi Gautam,

For Calibration Process, very first you have to define an Order Type. While defining the Order type you need to put the inspection point as 14 for plant Maintenance. In Standard SAP Calibration Order type is PM05. Then while creating Equipment Master you need to take the equipment Category as Q - Test/measurement equipment. Simultaneously you need to create a MIC, and an Equipment Task List. The Equipment Task list consist a Inspection Points 300 under QM Data Header, or 301 for Functional Location. To get the Order either you can go through the Plan to schedule your inspections of can create an Order directly. Create an Order and attach that Task list to that Order. The Task List should contain the MIC. While releasing the Order System will generate a Inspection Lot, that requires UD. On the Basis of UD results, you can go further. Order processing will require Manpower confirmation (Time Confirmation) and technical Completion. Simultaneously Cost Settlement and Business Completion also be processing.

    Thanks & Regards
