Please help clean up QM forum!!

It's the end of the year! Many people are on vacation. Things slow down at work. This is a great time to clean up your discussions.

To help find your discussions please refer to this blog:

How to close a discussion and why

I ask ALL posters to add a final reply to their discussions. Thank those that helped you. It is the polite thing to do.

If your question was unanswered, indicate this in your reply and explain why if possible. Explain what you tested, what you tried, what kind of work around you had to do? If you changed a business process, what did you change? You can then mark your own reply as the "correct" answer. You will not get points for that!! But you will close out an unanswered question.

YOU asked the question...Chances are some one tried to help. Give them some feedback.

Remember, this is the internet...your question could be here for decades. The chances are very high your question will show up in someone's Google query someday. Give them something. Even if it's just a confirmation that something can't be done, that can often be invaluable to people.

Also keep in mind that the better YOU treat the contributors here that help answer questions, the more likely they will be to spend time on your NEXT question. I've personally spent hours working on a question and testing scenarios for posters that posed good, well thought out, well researched questions and who I knew responded promptly to questions or requests for clarifications or additional info.

Build your relationships here just as you would those in your RT work enviornment.

Part of that is closing your questions!!

Thanks and I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Mr Craig, Merry X-Mas and Happy new year !!

I support your concern. There is big need of some kind of awareness program or something so that OPs can actually close the thread to keep the forum clean with open queries.

Well, I don't think we have to discuss this again because this part has been discussed, circulated, shared, addressed several times but last things which can change the system, is the user itself.

In a hope of things improving, let's begin with new year and wish all very best luck for their health, wealth and family 😊

I went though and checked my open questions today and closed them out. If its still a burning question, update it with new info. If it's over 60 days old, chances are its not a pressing production issue, just a "nice to have". Real production or design issues don't take 2-3 months to resolve one way or another.

Please take the time to close your open questions, especially those over 60 days.

I have begun to send PM's to people who have multiple, older postings open.

It's easy to let them sit out there and the next thing you know you have 20 or 30 of them.

Please help SCN and future users.

    • I had two queries open, one in QM and other in SCN support (within last one month). Support query is resolved and closed now. Now I'm left with one open query in QM and I have updated it to feature it on the forum again. Hopeful to get some satisfactory responses this time.
