File to SAP

Hi

I a working on File to SAP scenario, have to post FI document so using IDOC FIDDP01 idoc for posting.

As per my understanding, I would be using file adapter for sender system and in receiver side will be giving channel communication as http. Is my understanding correct.

Secondly, at the time of message interface in design time, would I be picking up Inbound with asynchronous or outbound with asynchronous for sender system. Please explain if possible what is the logic for picking up this.

Please Help me I am new starter in XI.

regards

Ria

    Hi ria,

    >>I would be using file adapter for sender system and in receiver side will be giving channel communication as http.

Sender side will be File adpater and receiver will be IDOC Adpater.

When picking up the file you have to specify OUTBOUND with Asynchronous mode.

    Hi Suraj,

Thank you for ur reply, I fianlly picked up the outbound and asynchronous. Now at the configuration time when I am doing interface determination I am receiving Null Pointer error and then just can't proceed. DO you know what could be the problem with the same.

Also Do I need to give port number of SAP R/3.

    Regards

    Ria
