Milestone Function to restrict activity release

Hi,

I have created three activities. (10,20,30)

When I am releasing the full project / network I want to restrict the release of 20 and 30 and want to release only activity 10.

When I am confirming the activity 10 then 20 should be release and when confirming 20 then 30 should be release.

I have tried by using milestone functions but it is not working.

Can anybody please tell me how to do the same by using milestone functions step by step.

Hi,

I agree with Sanjeev Chauhan . You should release activity one by one or create separate activity by giving reference of WBS.

The other way round to restrict release, It can be achieved on Network Level by passing user status. I have tested this and it is working fine. You need to set the "Release" Business Transaction as Forbidden under "Network Activity" Object Type. But you can not stop/restrict release of an activity.

Hi Pradeep,

It is not possible to restrict the release of activity at the time of releaseing network/project.

If Project/Network in CRTD status then Milestone functionality  can be use to maintain releaseing of activities after confirmation of previous activity..

As sanjeev says release activity step by step.

As per your example,

In standard system it is not possible to restrict Release of activity 20 before confirming activity 10.

you can create relationship between activities.

You can make Enhancement or development for this, using this it can be possible.

why you are releasing whole project while no needed?

you should release one by one activity or manage with ref of wbs. means create separate activity under one wbs.
