BO4 - Changes in security editor - take impact without export business layer

Hi,

We use bo4 sp8

If need to make changes to business security profile, e.g the rows a particular group can see, is it sufficent to just make these chnages in the security editor without republishing the business layer.

Having tried this out this looks to be the case.

Assume therefore any time need to create business or data security profile changes just need to do in the security editor.

You do not need to republish the business layer if you are looking for only changes to security editor. Security editor changes are not stored in the business layer itself and stored separately in BOE repository.  So any data security changes you can just do without opening the universe business layer and just in the security editor.
