GL ACCOUNT Blocked by user

Hi ALL,

I have an issue if two or three users are posting through same gl account then it is showing as gl account is blocked by user how to handle it. is it possible to handle through basis now we are on UAT.how to overcome it.

Hi,

If you are clearing open items then at the same time more than one user can not do that and it is standard sap control.

Hi Diwa,

'N' number of users can use the GL for posting transactions like FB01,FB50 etc.

System will throw error only when more than one user attempt to change the master data like FS00,FK02,FD02 etc.

System wont block G/L during posting. Thousands of transactions happens simultaneously. Please let us know exact error message.

As per my understanding,

Multiple users are trying to change the G/L master data at same time. If this is the case, system is behaving correctly.

You are getting error "G/L blocked for posting" when you try to post to this G/L. In this case, go to FS00 and check the posting block indicator from Menu->G/L account->Block. Some one might have blocked it for posting.

At time of posting system wont give any error message..

Check Master and confirm it is not blocked for posting under COA and Company Code.

Hi Diwa,

System wont block GL for posting even more than one user using the same GL. This would happen when users are using the same user ID in test systems.

Hello Diwa,

Let us know the exactly what you have done and the error message details once.

Case- 1:- If more than one person is trying to change that GL so sytem is throughing that error mesage.

Case- 2:-If you are getting any error like ''GL account is blocked for posting' while trying to post an entry then pls unblock that GL by going this path. GL account Menu--> Click Block function lese click lock buttion there. Here you can block/unblock the GL account for your requried selection

Case- 3:- If more than one person is using that particular t code at that time if you want to access that t code so the system will display a message saying that this t code is locked by user. Here you need to unlock that particular t code  by going to SM12. This t code will show all the locked entries. Here you can select the entry and then press delete then that particular t code is unlocked.

System will not blocked the GL even if you are using with multiple users at a time.

Hi Diwa,

Please chk SM12 t code to chk the entries locked and their user name who got locked that particular T code. This t code displays the locked entries list. If you want to proceed further pls select that entry and press delete option and then you can also able to log on to that particuak t code simultaneously.

IF the GL is blocked then we need to contact that particular user in order to know why it got blocked , is there any possibility to unblock that, can we use different GL in replace of that GL.

Hi Diwa,

This is the SAP standard process in order to avoid inconsistency in the system and the blocking of the GL/Customer/ Vendor is only for fraction of second only.
