Data replication in the Cloud

Hi all,

In my Cloud application, users might access contents (also files) both from EMEA and APJ.

I was wondering about network latencies: is there some kind of data replication e.g. between multiple data centers aroung the globe?

Thanks regards

    Hi Vincenzo,

At present, SAP HCP accounts (in which apps run) "live" either in the EU or US data center. You can of course deploy the same app in both landscapes but they will be two independent apps (separate URLs, data, etc.)

Yet, as you can imagine your use case is quite common and natural, it's already addressed and solution is being designed. Stay tuned! 😊

    Hi Vincenzo,

One additional aspect to consider is using services like geo-location-aware DNS resolution ( for example), segmenting your users accordingly to the 2 datacenteres HCP is currently running in (US and EU).

Similar + additional reduction of response time and network latency impact can be achieved by leveraging CDN services like Akamai (TERRA - Enterprise Cloud Solutions | Akamai).

Both of those will also solve the single-url issue for your app.

    Best wishes,
