BOM EXPLOSION IN SUBCONTRACTING SCENERIO

Hello Experts,

While performing transfer posting for Sub.con PO i see the Phantom Assembly. for which no stock is maintained and i want to issue components of this Phantom Assembly to the vendor.

we have Phantom assemblies maintained at BOM item level;  with Phantom Assembly indicator switched off which is generating dependent demand which is good. but when i am issuing the components to the vendor i should see components of phantom assembly.

Any suggestions? or any enhancements we should do

Thanks in advance

Hello,

This is a mistake.

If you have a subcontrating purchase order of a item, you assume that you will receive this item in stock.

So this item should not be a "phantom" item in other BOM.

Please check your scenario again.

This is a contradiction. If you want to send the components why would you set phantom assembly explosion off inside that BOM?

Please clarify.

Rajen/Daniel,

Thanks for your feedback.

requirement is planning should be done at Phantom Assembly level.  No stock is maintained at this level

but when we issue Subcon.PO for fin good. we want to issue the components under Phantom Assembly.

I removed the Phantom Assembly level switch off indicator it is working as expected. Will the planning have any impact??

please advise

The planning for the components is not impacted, the phantom assembly just works as a transparent BOM level, and the planning will be done correctly for the components according to the subcontracting requirements.

Is there any specific reason that you require requirement tracking at the phantom assembly level?
