Statistical Forecasting

A customer wants to use more advanced statistical forecasting methods than those which are presently available in S&OP like e.g. the regression methods which are available in APO Demand Planning.

=> Are there any plans to implement more advanced statistical forecasting methods in future releases?

Thanks

Reiner

And one more question: is there any documentation of the implemented forecast functionality, i.e. formulars, configuration etc.?

    Thanks

    Hi Reiner,

The Statistical Forecasting methods in S&OP are mostly sufficient for S&OP purpose. The good part is that S&OP used Predictive Analytics Library from HANA which supports many statistical forecasting methods. If your Customer has a specific need for an algorithm please reach out to us.We have options to include using concepts like Planning Operators.

With each future release we include more statistical forecasting methods based on the need from Customers.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Raghav

    • Hi Raghav,

the customer needs linear and multilinear regression which are part of the Predictive Analytics Library from HANA as i have seen, but i do not know to incorporate this into S&OP.

because its customer specific and maybe not of general interest -> i will send you the requirements by mail?

Future releases: Is already defined when other statistical methods will be available - to meet the customer expectations?

      Thanks
