hiring during payroll

dear experts,

we would like to do employee hiring during payroll time. However as the payroll area gets locked system is allowing, but our requirement is that the new employee is not supposed to be part of this payroll cycle at all. Howcome system is not allowing to create a personnel record.

pl. share your views, also if any else found out a workaround for the same..

Hi Krishna

We can create new employee's record through Hiring & then assign a dummy payroll area (ZZ) in IT0001 whilst payroll is running, so In such case the employee will not be a part of the current payroll area (XY) which is running. And finally when u want the employee to be part of the current payroll then change the payroll status to Released for Correction/ Exit payroll & then modify IT0001 payroll area.

Thank you Pradyp for your reply. We did explore this option. However, this requires lot of Z development. What is not clear to me is that I am hiring a employee, who does not require to be part of this payroll anyway. then why SAP is not allowing??

Dear Pradyp,

We are getting Message PG 135. 'Payroll Area 'XX' is locked for master data maintenance', actually in PA03 the status of payroll area is 'release for payroll'.

However, my logic is i am not changing any existing data and creating new hiring as on today, and I also do not want this record to be part of this month payroll anyway.

Any suggestions??

Dear Krishna,

Please find the screen shots which will be helpful for you and actually you have not released the payroll area for correction in PA03 transaction code for the Payroll area which you have assigned to the employee in 0001 infotype.

Hi Mithun,

Me too i did try getting same error, To prevent this i have created one pay roll area like and hired the employee once payroll existed then again i went to pa30 selected IT 0001 --> changed the payroll area.

I think this is useful information if it is please close this ticket by clicking on correct answer.
