Dismissed and Rejected

Hi,

It is quite frustrating to know that moderator is too rude to dismiss matters under the umbrella of "Rules of engagement"

I have recently asked the guys here to help me with Background jobs query and was rejected and dismissed.

Can I ask WHY WAS IT REMOVED ?

if you are the elite members of this forum, it doesn't mean you just dropped from somewhere learned. You were once learner.

and you are saying now Background job is not SD related?

Why in SD you don't have any BG Jobs set?

Now if the question is repeated do you think I would not have searched?

We come here after searching all the areas from pillar to post and reach here to get dejected.

If under the rules of engagement if you feel this is too harsh saying then I would say, to delete your account first and then my account.

Thanks

Venkat.

    Thanks, JP, for pinging me.

Venkat, there was nothing rude about the moderator's comment. The rules are the rules and they are very clear and apply to everyone. There are no "elite members" on this forum, everyone is equal and needs to abide by the same rules, whether it's your fist post or 100001st.

Everyone needs to make at least some effort to resolve their issue before posting. This would include searching SCN or Google and reaching to your fellow team members. I'm sorry but I'm having difficulty believing that you've reached to a Basis admin or an ABAPer from your team and they could not answer your question.

Also if you've made some effort before posting then it'd be beneficial to mention it in the post. The SCN members can't read minds (surprising, I know!), so if you post a question "how do I..." they'd have to assume you haven't bothered trying anything yourself. But if you ask "I've tried X and am getting an error" then not only you'd get more intelligent response but it'd be very unlikely such post would be removed.

You might want to read an excellent blog by Rob Burbank on how to ask questions on SCN. If you're looking for getting best results from SCN, such reading will do more good than blowing up cheeks and feeling all offended for no reason. Even if your post was rejected, it does not mean that you were rejected as a person. If we make a mistake, we just learn from it and move on.

    Venkat,

(It is easy to say but difficult to implement) Don't mind these "minor" bumps...on the road to learning!

    Keep going on!

    Nicely put by Jelena

Even if your post was rejected, it does not mean that you were rejected as a person.

I would go one step further, when you post in a forum, then do not think that it is yours anymore!

Being an old member, I am sure, you should be knowing the forum rules and so I dont want to stress much on that.

Coming to the issue, I am not sure what exactly you had posted but please try to understand we Moderators are definitely not having any bias with any member and our only intension is to take the forum in a healthy manner.

      Hi Lakshmipathiji,

As you can see in the screen shot, I have posted about the background jobs, how to assign new user for the two steps which background jobs has.

You have also replied to that by saying by maintaining variant .

      Thanks,

      Venkat.

Could a moderator please take the posts starting from the Ankit's one on the first page and split them into a separate discussion (and, if possible, move to Coffee Corner or About SCN)? I know for sure there is such feature on SCN.

    Thank you.

Firstly Don't get frustrated as this is not a social networking website.

And don't say like these words(which you have mentioned in first and second line).

What do you think if you will be a moderator, then you can better take care of this website?

They have the knowledge and responsibility then you and me.

About you discussion, you can search in SCN before post any question.

Because of this discussion is already discussed, the moderator is reject your question.

Why moderator approve your discussion as the discussion is already discussed?

First of all, if you have these sort issues in SCN, then please raise that SCN Support instead of SD spaces.

Can I ask WHY WAS IT REMOVED ?

As per my understanding, if you get a "Moderator Notification" that mostly means someone might have raised a "report abused" on your post and subsequently acted by Space Moderator or Global Moderators. Else, you would have observed in SD space, where Space Moderator like me or @G Lakshmipathi Sir would have acted then either those sort of discussions are un-marked as question and locked or we would have added suitable comments on the thread.

you are saying now Background job is not SD related?

Why in SD you don't have any BG Jobs set?

I agree BG is related to SD. But, you would also agree this is cross module technical tool. If you would have posted this query in technical forum then you would received rather precise & accurate solution to your issue. Instead of report abuse! B'coz those are the people who work on that tool extensively, in compare to functional.

    You are learning.

    Right?

So, why you shy away or what stops you in consulting your technical teammates or putting a discussion in Technical forum? Even Senior member, Techno-Functional and SAP Mentor, @Jelena Perfiljeva would also agree on this.

You can't outright blame Moderator for everything.

And mind you, yes, your tone is too "harsh".

    Best Wishes, JP
