Possible to export document as PDF with web based images in 4.0?

I have a WebI document that includes web-based images being brought in dynamically based on dimensions and displayed using the "Read As: Image URL" settings on the cells. Unfortunately when I export as a PDF none of the images are brought into the file. Any options to get this to work? Unfortunately the images need to be updated fairly regularly so placing them in the boimg folder on the server isn't a good option.

Thanks!

Thanks for that - crazy that it's still not supported, maybe in a future release 😕

In the meantime we're experimenting with setting the BOIMG folder to a folder on a shared drive so people can readily update the images but still have export to PDF functionality.

Let us know if you get some success with that approach.. this is already open for quite long with no  work arounds

This worked. It has to be the server address (ie: "\\<servername1>\images") and not a mapped shared drive address (ie: G:\images\) since the service won't recognize the mapping. I was able to bring the images into the report and had them export to PDF. This way our users can still manage them on their own but they can be picked up in any WebI report. I'll put a write up on it shortly. Hopefully this helps some people out!

Are the images in Header or Body of the WebI Document? If you have it in Header then it won't be exported to file.. You need to place them in the Body.

They're in the body of the report. Apparently this has been a known issue with WebI for some time, I'm just hoping there is a work-around. Something DeskI is able to easily do...

Quick edit: I've confirmed the same results with JPEG or GIF images.
